Newsroom Nov 7, 2022

Here are the top 5 players in IEM Rio CSGO Major so far.

As we head into the IEM Rio Legends stage, we look at some of the players who stand above the rest. Said players have put in the work for their team and the results are very apparent.

Their efforts came in to save their teams when they needed someone to step up, fortunately, all of the teams have made it to the next stage of the tournament and an even tougher match awaits that will make it harder to hold this level of performance but something tells us they are up for it.

Here are the five players we think have impressed the most:

Dmitry 'sh1ro' Sokolov

sh1ro has been the best player in the earlier stages of the campaign by a margin. While the likes of ZyWoo did not hit the ground running, sh1ro was able to outshine everyone despite Cloud9 dropping crucial points early on in their campaign. As sh1ro continued to perform, Cloud9 picked up their form and made sure they do enough to make it to the next stage.  sh1ro has secured a rating of 1.45 across the 8 maps played, the highest in the tournament so far.

Dorian 'xertioN' Berman

One of Mouz's young guns is playing his first major. xertioN was promoted to the main Mouz lineup at the cost of Bymas and he hit the ground running. Despite having a stacked lineup, the 18-year-old stood out and clearly was their best player and helped his team secure a clean record in the Challengers stage.  The Israeli rifler posted a rating of 1.41 across the 5 maps played.

The german Sniper has historically failed to do well in the Majors but he has come far from it. syrsoN has been one of the best players in the tournament so far and a big part of why BIG was able to perform the way they did. syrsoN averaged a rating of 1.41 in the 5 matches that he has played so far. He has been a safe pair of hands for his team on the big stage and will have to take up more important responsibility as BG heads into the next stage of the Major.

Kaike 'KSCERATO' Cerato

Brazil has shown up in numbers to support home favourite Furia and KSCERATO was their driving force. Even though Furia is a team stacked with talents but one man that comes to mind when you think about a star player is KSCERATO. His clean rifle work has been the reason why Furia managed to brush off several top teams that threatened them in the Challengers stage.  He averaged a rating of 1.40 after 5 matches played so far.

Mathieu 'ZywOo' Herbaut

Better late than never, ZyWoo had a rough start to the campaign like Vitality but delivered when they needed him. It took a few matches for him to get back to his usual form but once he did, Vitality cruised through their opponents and now they are in the Legends stage. It took them all 5 matches but managed to make it. He averaged a rating of 1.39 in the 8 maps they played, and with more matches on the cards, he is all set to pull those numbers up.

These are the 5 highest-rated players in the tournament and they have plenty more to do for their sides in the coming stages. With the Legends stage starting tomorrow, we will see how they fair in the next and more difficult phase of IEM Rio Major.
