T1 dominated the reigning champions with an outstanding effort. Top laner Choi "Zeus" Woo-Je on the gallant pirate Gangplank stole the stage. Zeus could solo kill Li "Flandre" Xuan-Maokai Jun's at the fifteen-minute mark, earning him enough money to finish his two core items, Trinity Force and The Collector. A river battle would be led by the Gangplank player three minutes later. Zeus delayed Zhao "Jiejie" Li-Graves Jie's with a Powder Keg and shot him down for the first kill as EDG sought to contain Lee "Faker" Sang-Viktor. hyeok's

Zeus and his team destroyed the Nexus by the time the game reached the 27th minute, giving them their sixth victory in the Group Stage. As the winner and top seed in Group A, T1 moves on to the Knockout Stage. The second seed in the division is EDG.

Faker, a three-time World Champion, has maintained a decent record in the Worlds Group Stage: in his seven Worlds appearances, the mid-laner has consistently advanced as the top seed. On October 20, the Worlds Knockout Stage will start.
