Paper Rex continued the impressive consistency they have shown in Valorant Championships throughout this year.

The first-ever Valorant India Invitational by Galaxy Racer India was held here at GMR Arena, where Singapore-based professional team Paper Rex proved their position by defeating Team Heretics in an electrifying Grand Final.

Paper Rex will get $50,000 in prize money for their victory, while Team Heretics received $20,000 for coming in second place. Siddharth Ravishankar, Games Director at Galaxy Racer, said they saw intense matches from some of the top professional players in Valorant. The Grand Finals was a genuine representation of the significance of the whole event. They are happy with how well each team played, particularly the Indian teams that battled against teams from other countries and gave their all. Everything depended on the public's support, which manifested itself in great numbers by attending events to cheer for their favourite teams. They congratulate Paper Rex on their outstanding victory and hope to see more of these teams participating in India in the near future.

The opening map saw a closely fought encounter between the two champions, which the Singapore team won 13-11. Although Team Heretics fought back to win the second map game, the winners' willpower did not falter as they overcame deficits to win the next two games, 13-10 and 13-8, respectively, and secure the coveted trophy.

After winning stages 1 and 2 of the VCT earlier in 2022, this was Paper Rex's third significant victory in Valorant this season. After winning the competition, Paper Rex's player Khalish Rusyaidee expressed his thanks, stating that winning this title was a nice feeling since they had been resting since the Istanbul championship. Their confidence in each other to go the distance and keep up their winning streak, they are pleased with how they performed. Overall, they are thrilled with this outcome and their outstanding tournament performance.

Along with the two winners of the event, semifinalists Bleed Esports and Team Secret each received $10,000. In contrast, the remaining four teams, Enigma Gaming, Rex RegumQeon, Boom Esports, and GodSquad, each received $2,500 for participating in the competition. GodSquad from Global Esports, the only Indian team to qualify for the Valorant Champions Tour 2023–24, earned outstanding victories in the group stage against Bleed Esports and Boom Esports but nearly missed the semi-finals due to game differences.

The Valorant India Invitational, one of the greatest tournaments conducted in India this year, featured fantastic action from eight elite teams and was the first international LAN Valorant event to take place in Southeast Asia. The Championship also included a partnership with Sunburn Arena to debut an Esports and music mashup.
