Outsiders win IEM Rio 2022 CSGO Major
Outsiders win IEM Rio beating Heroic 2-0.
The month-long festival of Counter-Strike has come to an end with an unlikely team emerging as the winner. Outsiders having undergone a very tough phase managed to beat the Danish powerhouse in Heroic to win IEM Rio 2022, CSGO Major.
Coming into the finals. Outsiders defeated a very inexperienced roster in Mouz while it can be argued that Heroic faced many tough challenges on their way. Outsiders having played in a Major final before lost to the best Danish team at the time in Astralis and they were poised to not let it happen again in Rio.
With the burden of a final loss, the former VP roster came into the game with a cadiaN-led Heroic standing between them and a major trophy. Tacking some technical issues, we got underway.
We kicked off the final in Outsider's pick of Mirage, a map that both teams are well versed in and boast a good record. The terrorist side, the Outsiders managed to edge Heroic out by a round. Moving onto the offense, Heroic did not find enough solutions to break Outsider's defense before losing the map 16-12.
Heroic looked to answer back on their own pick of Overpass, again a map that both teams have shown prowess in. Despite being their pick, it couldn't have gone worse for Heroic as the Outsiders showed up with a dominant CT side, posting 12 rounds in the first half of the map alone. The Russians had an answer to everything Heroic threw at them and by the time the game reached the second half, Outsiders had one hand on the trophy.
The story did not change on the second half of the second map where. Outsiders did not let any more than two rounds slip before Outsiders got to 16, marking their first-ever trophy under the Outsiders banner.

Their first every trophy was a Major, pretty incredible to think about it. They were a dark horse in every tournament they played so far but did not manage to go all the way in the majority of the tournament. Â Â Â Â
Jame was awarded the MVP and nothing to argue against it. Clearly led his side to this incredible triumph, with smart calling that too without any compromises on his individual performance.
