Orangutan Gaming, one of the popular Esports teams in India, has just announced its roster for the competitions coming up in 2023.

  • Following a rough 2022 competitive season, Orangutan Gaming has unveiled its new Valorant lineup for the year.
  • The new Valorant roster consists of four former Enigma Gaming players and a young recruit from the Philippines.
  • With this announcement, Orangutan has revamped its male and female Valorant teams for the 2023 circuit.

The former Enigma Gaming trio of Akram "Rawfiul" Virani, Sabyasachi "Antidote" Bose, Rishi "RvK" Vijayakumar, and Jm "tesseract" Ignacio, along with former South Built Esports member Azis "azys" Nandang, joined Orangutan in assembling a new team for VCT 2023. The statement confirming prior rumors by Talkesport and Seulgi regarding the probable purchase came a month after Enigma Gaming announced the team's departure.

Riot Games, the company behind League of Legends, one of the most popular Esports games ever, is skilled at breaking into the Esports industry. Valorant, which took home the Esports Game of the Year prize at The Game Awards 2022, was then introduced.

As players from all across India compete in tournaments for the championship worldwide, Valorant has gained quite a following in India. Adding an Indian Agent and the current India-themed map has further improved the appeal.

One of India's most well-known Esports teams, Orangutan Gaming, has revealed its squad for the 2023 events. The new lineup consists of three players from India and two from the Philippines. Players in the 2023 roster for Orangutan Gaming include:

  • Rawfiul: Akram Virani
  • RvK: Rishi Vijayakumar
  • Antidote: Sabyasachi Bose
  • tesseract: Jm Ignacio
  • azys: Azis Nadang

The team also made a statement on Twitter, saying that now is the moment to be "ready to fight the war" after a year of "ups and downs." This follows a poor competitive season in 2022, but the squad looks forward to what 2023 has in store.
