With more than 4.5 million followers, the well-known Minecraft YouTuber became well-known due to his participation in the DreamSMP Minecraft roleplaying server. He has lived with Dream and another Minecraft content developer, GeorgeNotFound, for an extended period. Even though he doesn't post as often as some of his fellow creators, each upload has more success than is reasonable. Each of the seventeen videos he has posted to his channel has had more than 1 million views, and some have even reached 23 million.

Additionally, Sapnap streams on Twitch, where he has a channel with more than three million subscribers. He often broadcasts his games on the DreamSMP Minecraft server and the highly-liked competitive first-person shooter Valorant. The success of Minecraft's inventor has given him a chance to join the esports and content production company NRG. In a joint tweet with the organization, he declared his intention to join as a partner content producer and co-owner.

The decision was made in conjunction with a video skit in which Sapnap solicited the participation of several of his friends and other creators, including Dream, Tarik, and Shroud, but they all turned him down. He decided to explore his Night Market as he had no one to play with. He suspiciously clicks on the "Buy NRG" button among the selection of gun skins. The same buddies who turned down his invitation to play Valorant with them also became partners in NRG. He was also shown the benefits of becoming a co-owner of a significant esports organization.

Sapnap is not the first creative to assume control of a company involved in esports. 100 Thieves is co-owned by YouTube gaming broadcasters Valkyrae and CourageJD, while Complexity Gaming is co-owned by TimTheTatman. When NRG acquired Northern Gaming, a Canadian esports team he co-owned, Sodapoppin, a well-known Twitch broadcaster, became a co-owner of NRG. But since then, Sodapoppin has become a co-owner of the content production company One True King. Former MLB players Alex Rodriguez and Jimmy Rollins, as well as NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal, are among the well-known investors in the NRG Esports company.
