On January 1, 2023, the M4 World Championship is slated to begin. This is the first significant Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) competition that will take place in 2019. 16 elite teams from 12 different locations will compete in the tournament to become the next global champion. Jakarta, Indonesia, will host the M4 World Championship. Moonton has not yet revealed if the event would accept live spectators at the location or whether it will continue to be an online event with live broadcasts. Only the tournament date and the regions that will participate are currently known.
What is the M4 World Championship?
The fourth edition of the greatest and most renowned Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competition ever is the M4 World Championship. 16 eligible teams from various locations will compete in this event for a portion of the US$800,000 prize money and the title of top MLBB team in the globe. Blacklist International from the Philippines won the M3 World Championship championship the previous year, and they want to retain it this year.
Format for the M4 World Championship
The group and the knockout stages are the two phases of the competition. The 16 qualifying teams are divided into four groups for the group stage, where they will compete in a best-of-one, single round-robin style. Each group's top two players advance to the upper bracket, while the worst two players are assigned to the lower bracket.
It will be a double-elimination process for the knockout stage. Except for the first two rounds of the lower bracket and the championship match, which will be played as best-of-three and best-of-seven series, all matches in the knockout stage are played in a best-of-five format. The M4 World Championship's participant areas have undergone a few adjustments. The area of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) won't be present at the next event. After not participating in the last M3 Global Championships, Mekong and Myanmar will return to the world series competition.
