Amateur and professional players have long made the Counter-Strike series a mainstay of Esports. Many gamers that have grown up with competitive gaming have played Counter-Strike since it first came out in 1999. The initial game's popularity meant it wouldn't take long for Valve to create Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the Esports flagship.

Global Offensive was launched in 2012 by Valve, NAMCO, and Nexon. In keeping with the original Counter-Strike game, Global Offensive includes those aspects while amplifying the competitive multiplayer experience ten times.

Players are divided into teams in Counter-Strike Global Offensive, where they compete against other teams. Teams for terrorists and counter-terrorists are divided. The former wins by carrying out operations like planting and detonating explosives and murdering hostages. However, the latter may triumph after eliminating the terrorists, neutralizing explosives, and rescuing captives. The obvious way to win is to eliminate every player on the other team, regardless of whose team they are on.

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds, often known as PUBG: Battlegrounds, is one of the games that has swept both the mobile and PC competitive sectors by storm. The idea for PUBG: Battlegrounds originated with Krafton and Microsoft Studios. The Chinese game developer Tencent Games produced the smartphone version. The 2017 game was first a mod made by Brendan Greene, also known as Playerunknown in the gaming community. The game's free-for-all third-person shooter bedlam gameplay was influenced by the 2000 Japanese cult hit Battle Royale.

Players parachute onto a map with other players as the game starts. As soon as they arrive, the players may begin combat by gathering weapons from different points on the battlefield. The map's reduction in size adds to the competitive game experience. Players beyond the map's outside edge will gradually lose health until they pass away. The circle will eventually become so tiny that just a few players will fit within. The person who wins the game is left standing on the map.

PUBG: Battlegrounds has raked up gaming accolades left and right since its debut in 2017. It won both the Best PC Game and Best Multiplayer Game Awards at the 35th Golden Joystick Awards in 2017. A year later, at the 36th Golden Joystick Awards, the game's mobile version also won Best Mobile Game of the Year. Along with other games, PUBG: Battlegrounds was nominated for several awards, including the 2019 Esports Game of the Year.
