Many viewers have high hopes and expectations for both tournament organizers to deliver a high-quality first Major for the South American (SA) region and the first Major of the 2023 season, despite some viewers' minor concerns regarding the rather drab production studio set shown on the live stream.

Even though some of the teams were still en route to Peru at the time of the drawing, teams like the local representatives, Beastcoast, commented on the live picture on YouTube. In the regional DPC competitions, 18 teams earned a seat at the Major. These teams will begin their campaigns in the group stage, split into two groups as stated below.
Group A
Although neither club was picked as the obvious favorite, Group A is the more evenly matched of the two groups. Yet, with PSG.LGD, Team Spirit, and Tundra Esports are in the mix; Group A should provide some excellent Dota 2 matchups for the audience.
Position | Team | Series (W-D-L) | Games (W-L) |
---|---|---|---|
1st | EHOME | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
2nd | Evil Geniuses | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
3rd | Execration | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
4th | Gaimin Gladiators | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
5th | PSG.LGD | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
6th | Talon Esports | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
7th | Team Spirit | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
8th | TSM | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
9th | Tundra Esports | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
Group B
At first appearance, Group B was a specific group for Team Liquid, especially because of the team's dominance in the Western Europe (WEU) competition. They will, however, compete fiercely with teams like Team Aster, Shopify Rebellion, and BetBoom Team.
Position | Team | Series (W-D-L) | Games (W-L) |
---|---|---|---|
1st | beastcoast | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
2nd | BetBoom Team | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
3rd | Entity | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
4th | Geek Slate | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
5th | HellRaisers | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
6th | Knights | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |
7th | Shopify Rebellion | 0-0-0 | 0-0 |

Two of the 18 teams will lose points for using substitute players throughout the Major. PSG. Li Longwu, the offline player for LGD, could not get a visa in time; thus, Ren "old eLeVeN" Yangwei will fill in for him at the Major. Artem "Yuragi" Golubiev, the rising superstar carry for OG, will support the HellRaisers, who infamously parted ways with Nikita "Daxak" Kuzmin.
