India is the newest nation to qualify for Bali, Indonesia's hosting of the World Esports Championship in 2022. India will play in various esports games at the tournament, which is put on by the International Esports Federation (IESF), including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Tekken 7, and eFootball. The 14th World Esports Championship, which will soon begin, is planned to start on December 1. The competition will include six distinct esports games, including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang for the first time, Dota 2, and PUBG Mobile. The prize fund for the competition is $500,000.

Each esports championship event will take place in a unique location around Bali. The Merusaka Hotel Nusa Dua will host the PUBG Mobile event, while South Kuta will host the CS: GO event. The team's skipper offered his thoughts on India's admission to the tournament's 14th iteration. He remarked how happy he was to represent his nation in the competition, calling it "a huge honour."

Defaulter said it had been a privilege to represent India in the WEC on two separate occasions. As a squad, they are eager and ready to compete in the forthcoming WEC, which begins the following week in Bali. The world championship will be a major event. They have great expectations for the event and will work hard to bring honour to the nation if they approach it with the appropriate mindset and effort. Team India placed seventh in the competition held in Eilat, Israel, the year before. They want to stand out in this year's edition by achieving a higher finish.

India's first game against Team Tajikistan may be their most difficult opponent in the group. A best-of-one format will be used for all group-stage matches. Hitesh "Rcool" Khorwal will represent Team India in the Tekken 7 competition. Along with Pakistan's South Asian rivals, the Bahamas and Venezuela, the tricolour squad will participate in Group E. The group stage will be contested in a best-of-one style, similar to the CS: GO competition, with the top two players moving on to the playoff round. Hemanth "Peshemak7" Kommu will represent Team India in the eFootball arena. In Group P, he will face off against Kazakhstan, Guinea, and Armenia contestants.
