The team scored their first win against debutants Morocco and drew against Italy and Mexico. At the end of Round 1, India was fifth in the Group D points table with 5 points. Still, India fell to the bottom of the table on a horrible, pointless second day and was eliminated from the tournament through the qualifying phase.

Game 1: India 1-5 Italy

The second leg of the group stage started with India versus Italy. The Italian team dominated and put the Indian team under pressure from the start. Finally, they reached their destination in 18 minutes. Italy scored two more goals to end the first half 3-0. In the second half, Italy extended their lead by 5 goals, which was unattainable for India. However, Charanjot and Co.he withdrew one, but the game's outcome was already decided.

Game 2: Netherlands 3-1 India

The next game was against the third-placed Netherlands in the world. They are among the tournament's top seeds and are considered favourites in Group D. The Netherlands impressed in the early minutes and created chance after chance, even though the first half ended 0-0.

The Dutch dominated the second half and finally separated after an hour. Around the 77th minute, the Netherlands scored another goal and led 2-0. Charanjit and Co quickly scored and halved the deficit with 10 minutes to go. The Indian team tried to equalize but failed as the Dutch team used the clever tactic of wasting time and extended their lead with the third goal extra time. The game ended in a 3-1 win for the Netherlands.

Game 3: India 0-1 Poland

The third game was very close. After 90 minutes, with the score 0-0, it looked like a draw. The eTigers suffered an overtime penalty, and Poland edged out India to take all three points. India's elimination from the competition was specific after losing to Poland.

Game 4: Mexico 1-0 India

In the fourth game, India met Mexico, ranked 7th in the world. As expected, Mexico dominated the field from the start. The Indian team maintained its strength, and the first half ended dead. Mexico found their way into the back net in the 62nd minute. The goal in the second half made the difference between the teams in regulation time.

Charanjit Singh, who scored three goals that night, said: “We  just played one game at a time. That's what we need to do today," said India's top-ranked eFootballer.

Saransh Jain said: “I'm not very happy with the results but we liked the way we played. I think our offensive game was a bit shaky."

Siddh Chandarana, absent from Day 1's matches, felt the eTigers had a bit of bad luck in a few matches, but his focus is now entirely on the following five to play."I think we had a lot of bad luck in the games. The games against Italy, Poland and Mexico could have gone either way. But all that is in the past. We'll look at the games, regroup and try to get the results in the other five games," he said.
