Gaming, Organising, and Esports: Interview Siddhartha Sinha
We are back with another episode of Tournatalks. In the sixteenth episode of Tournatalks, we had an insightful discussion on the opportunities in the gaming industry how gaming has influenced the youth, and how organizing is a budding option in the Esports industry. We invite gamers, organizers, and much more eminent people from the gaming industry to spread awareness on various gaming and Esports issues and gain some valuable points from the professionals themselves.
In the sixteenth episode of Tournatalks, we invited Mr. Siddharth Sinha who is the CEO of RVNC Esports. The session was hosted by Aman from team Tournafest.
Let us take a look at some of the interesting questions from the session-
How did your family support you in your journey?
Siddhartha started telling about his journey by saying “I started gaming when I was in the first year of my college and there wasn't much pressure of studies. So, most of the time I was playing games, like 6-7 hours. My family didn't really care in the beginning because they didn't know I was actually investing my time in this, they thought it was “just for fun”. My mother was very supportive throughout my journey. I've learned a lot in these past 4 years about Esports.”
What hardships did you face during your journey?
“The most difficult moment in my journey has to be the time when I was told to choose between my studies and gaming. My family told me that you've to choose one and it was a tough choice to make. So, I had to leave casting and gaming for two months to focus more on my studies,” reminisced Siddhartha.
What should someone do if they're not that good at studies and want to pursue a career in Esports?
“That's a tricky question, obviously. I'd just say that if you're doing gaming, you need consistency. You cannot just do it for 2-3 months and drop it if you're not getting opportunities. You've to be consistent if you're gaming. So, it would help if you chose your priorities accordingly,” advised Siddhartha.
What is your mantra to keep going in life?
“I have a simple mantra. I maintain a notebook where I've written my goals and the time period by which I need to achieve them. I work on the basis of this. My mantra is just to keep following that book. We want to build a whole company out of RVNC Esports,” said Siddhartha.
What all tools should an organizer use?
“The most important tools for an organizer have to be social media and discord. These are the biggest tools that are needed for an organizer. If you're good at these, you have a wide scope in this field.” Advised Siddhartha.
What tips would you like to give to the people who are interested in organizing?
“If you look around, there are 1000s of Esports communities and organizers. So, the competition is cut-throat. My advice to beginners would be to not go after creating an organization of your own. You can start by joining an established organization because it would be much more beneficial.” Said, Siddhartha.
Since you're also a gamer, what suggestions would you give to the underdogs so that they can improve their performance?
“If I talk about BGMI in particular, there's a lot of toxicity around. You should not start blaming your teammates. You should rewatch your matches, explain the mistakes to your squad members and be ready for criticism too. Do not take toxicity as a demotivation, take it as criticism and do better next time,” explained Siddhartha.
How can gamers focus and improve their mental health?
"The mental health of gamers is an important topic that should be addressed. If you're frustrated, give yourself a break. It's not necessary to play 7 days a week. Take out a day for yourself and lose focus on the game.” Suggested Siddhartha
