Dota 2 is a 2013 multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game developed and published by Valve. The game is a sequel to Defense of the Ancients (DotA), which was a community-created mod for Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. Dota 2 is played in matches between two teams of five players, with each team occupying and defending their own separate base on the map. Each of the ten players independently controls a powerful character known as a "hero" who all have unique abilities and differing styles of play.

  • Dota 2 (ESL) X Mercedes Benz

Mercedes-Benz, a German automaker, first connected with the Esports community in 2017 when it partnered with the ESL. The collaboration involved the sponsoring of tournaments at several ESL events, notably ESL One Hamburg 2017, a Major Dota 2 tournament with a $1,000,000 USD prize pool. The organization also began giving a Mercedes-Benz to the MVP player. Lu "Somnus'M" Yao received a Mercedes-Benz car in October 2018 as part of the automaker's renewed cooperation and continuation of their MVP award history after winning MVP of the ESL One Birmingham 2020 - Online.

  • Dota 2 X Netflix

DOTA: Dragon's Blood is an anime-influenced television series based on Dota. It is produced by Studio Mir and Kaiju Boulevard, and premiered on Netflix on March 25, 2021. The teaser trailer and main trailer for the series were both released on March 2, 2021, two days after the series' initial announcement on February 17, 2021. Four advertisements were posted by the Dota 2 Twitter account on the same day. On one of the corners of each of these posters is a portion of a QR code, which when perfectly aligned, creates a QR code that links to a brief teaser film that reveals Terrorblade minimap icon.png. Published on March 23rd was this teaser. The series debuted on March 25, 2021, in its entirety.

The second season of Dota: Dragon's Blood was announced during The International 2021, along with Marci's announcement of becoming a playable hero in Dota2. The season began airing in January 2022. Renewed for a third season, Book 3 for Dota: Dragon's Blood was announced on June 11, 2022. A teaser was released featuring four stills from the new season. It is set to air on Netflix on August 11, 2022.
