"We're in the business of telling scary stories. "We make movies, we make TV, and there's this massive, growing segment in media and entertainment called gaming," Blumhouse president Abhijay Prakash told Bloomberg. "There are hundreds of billions of dollars in the space; we're in a great position to try to access it."

Blumhouse Games, like the production company's film division, will develop its titles on a tight budget, spending no more than $10 million (£8.6 million) on each project. Instead of adapting their films into games, Blumhouse will look for projects already in the works, providing financial support and creative insight while attaching the Blumhouse name to those titles.

Blumhouse Games' creative team will be led by game producer Zach Wood, who most recently worked on Prey: Mooncrash and Redfall. Don Sechler, a former PlayStation executive who worked closely with indie studios, will oversee the company's operational and financial aspects.
