Best CSGO Settings For 2022
How to set up CSGO in 2022?
Counter Strike Global Offensive is a game that dropped years ago so modern hardware would not have a hard time running it, however, the poor optimization and bloated game engine are historically known to bottleneck hardware, and more often than not, we have seen good hardware push out fewer frames per second than we would ideally expect.
To understand the settings for CSGO, we have to keep in mind that it is a competitive game from over 10 years ago. Competitive games focus on mechanics and gameplay while keeping the system requirements as low as possible so that more and more players can enjoy it. In order to keep the system requirements low, the game suffers from poor graphics but let's be honest, we never play the game for its graphics.
Looking at the poor graphics, one may assume that modern cheap hardware should breeze through the game but the reality can't be any further. The CPU-intensive nature of the game engine fails to utilize the full potential of a Graphics Card.

When settings up a fresh CSGO installation, there are two ways about it, either you have a PC that can run the game smoothly or something that is struggling to pull 60 FPS. We have put together the best settings that will make sure you get the maximum frame rates that your PC is capable of.
BASIC PC SETUP
Make sure you have no anti-virus, ram cleaner, game boosters etc. running in the background. Such applications promise to maximize your PC performance but the best way to do it is to manually uninstall everything that you do not need and stop as many background tasks as you can.
Make sure you have stopped all applications that start when your computer boots so nothing runs in your background when you are gaming. Stop animations in Windows Explorer that you don't need as they are critical in bogging down your system.

Clean your %temp% folder and keep Windows updated, along with your GPU driver. Certain changes in the registry of Windows are rumoured to improve in-game performance but we do not have any proof to attest to those claims.

In Game Settings
In-game settings are the most important of all. These are the ones that largely impact your frames per second. We suggest using the lowest resolution you can without impacting your gameplay and putting these settings on top to get the best performance out of the game.
Try lowering the graphics settings and other related options to get a better FPS in the game. Below are some changes you can make to get a better FPS in CSGO. Several maps offer miscellaneous changes that improve FPS, most notably Config Generator crashz & Misterio. Do note, these settings will make the game look extremely low quality but you will be rewarded will a significant increase in FPS.
- Display Mode - Fullscreen
- Laptop Power Saving - Disabled
- Global Shadow Texture - Very Low
- Model / Texture Details - Low
- Effect Details - Low
- Shader Detail - Low
- Multicore Rendering - Enabled
- Multisampling Anti-Aliasing Mode - None
- Texture Filtering Mode - Bilinear
- FXAA Anti-Aliasing - Disabled
- Wait for Vertical Sync -Disabled
- Motion Blur - Disabled
Once these settings are applied it is likely that you will see a significant improvement in FPS. At the same time, changes in game files will see improvements in the game.
