More than 100,000 people attended the IEM Katowice 2015 live event. A new Twitch concurrent viewing record was achieved for the ESL One and IEM broadcasts, with over 1 million people tuning in at once during that year's events. Esports enthusiasts flocked to the Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland, to see the best players in the world compete.

Against the Current and Jay Chou played "Legends Never Die" when a gigantic 3D augmented reality Elder Dragon invaded the Beijing National Stadium as part of Riot's lavish opening celebration for the World Championship Finals.

Twenty-four of China's greatest LoL teams competed in the event, which took place in locations around the country. SK Telecom T1, the defending Worlds champion, was swept in the finals by Samsung Galaxy in a best-of-five series. At 60 million unique viewers, the event smashed all previous viewing records.

Solo, Duo, Creative Finals, and the well-known Celebrity Professional-Amateur event were all part of the tournament. In the end, Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf won US$3 million and became a household celebrity in the Western world for finishing first.

Bukovel Minor, the second Dota 2 event of the 2019-2020 season, was the first tournament organized by the WePlay! Team. The tournament's Twitch conversation was overflowing with compliments regarding the quality of the event's production. When the competition was taking a break, the Twitch feed was amused with various memes, beautiful venue and scenic photos, and even live musicians.

Team Nigma triumphed in both the WePlay! Bukovel Minor and Tug of War: Mad Moon competitions, overcoming two seemingly invincible opponents in Royal Never Give up and Team Secret. As a result, the organizers put on a Cyberpunk-themed Tug of War: Mad Moon event, with the commentators dressed in full costume. Two Cyber Trucks were on hand to welcome the teams to the Upper Bracket Finals.
