What does it take to be considered one of the greatest League of Legends players in history? The response is frequently determined by the individual who asked the question. Some claim that the star players are mechanical marvels who outplay their opponents. Some people applaud self-assured shot callers who guide their comrades on the battlefield. Others place their faith in daring innovators, whom all seem to find fresh methods to disrupt the competitive metagame.
The truth, as is so frequently the case, would be somewhere in the middle. The finest LoL players have a unique combination of talent, game knowledge, and innovation that immediately distinguishes them. So, without any further ado, here's our list of the top five League of Legends players of all time!
"Faker" Sang-Hyeok There's no denying that Faker is indeed the best LoL player. He began his professional career in February of 2013 and has won the tournament every year since. In September of that year, he was crowned World Champion. Since then, he has won two additional global titles and placed second in 2017. This has resulted in him having the best results of any LoL player in international competition. In Korea, he also won eight national titles and gained a stake in the firm, securing his future. The pressure Faker applies to enemy mid laners is unstoppable. His mere existence can lead his opponents' strategies to be reworked solely for the aim of closing him down. Taking down the "Unkillable Demon King," however, is easier than it sounds, as Faker excels at absorbing jungle pressure.
Martin Larsson, commonly known as Rekkles, is widely regarded as being one of the best League of Legends players in history. The Swedish bot laner has competed for the finest European teams and is among the few players to have competed for archrivals Fnatic and G2 Esports.
Rekkles' career is unquestionably one of the greatest of any European LoL player, having begun with Fnatic in 2012. He has almost 2,000 kills in the EULCS and LEC, but chose to change things up in 2022 and join the French LFL. Rekkles has won many EULCS and LEC championships and even competed in the 2018 League of Legends World Championship finals. Rekkles made an unexpected transfer away from Fnatic and to rival team G2 ahead of the 2021 season. He is still considered one of the greatest players in the world.
If there was an Esports Top Ten, Bjergsen's name would undoubtedly be on it. He's been on fire since his start with the Copenhagen Wolves, and it wasn't until he signed with Team SoloMid that he established himself as the undisputed top mid laner in his region and gained the moniker "North American Faker."
He signed with TSM in 2014 and has six NALCS titles to his name. TSM's immovable obstacle was Bjergsen. He was a stalwart veteran who made his presence felt with deft laning and effective team fighting. His skills were sharp enough to hold their own against the world's best League of Legends players. Bjergsen's biggest strength is his consistency; no matter whom he plays against, you can bank on him to deliver. Unfortunately, Bjergsen has not been able to demonstrate his abilities on the world stage, but by signing with Team Liquid in 2022, he may have another chance.
ShowMaker is DWG KIA's quintessential mid-laner and a player able to win games for his team on his own. He is the nightmare of LCK mid-lane players and a perpetual threat in extended games since he is composed, effective, and fantastic in the early game. His incredible ability to execute under pressure makes him an excellent addition to any LoL squad. Heo "ShowMaker" Su has an incredibly consistent performance – he had the greatest KDA of all the mid-laners throughout the spring, demonstrating that he has the true skill and knows what he's doing. They won the League of Legends World Championship in 2020, and with ShowMaker at their core, they were the favorites to win the title in 2021, but were unable to continue their level of play and were eliminated from the competition in the last act, although Showmaker performed his bit. The youthful mid-laner hopes to continue dominating the LCK in the coming years, and he simply needs some time to become one of the greatest League of Legends pro-gamers of all time.
Perkz is among the world's most unique players. He debuted in the EU LCS in 2016 and soon established himself as one of the region's best mid laners. His side, G2 Esports, went on to win the following four titles in a row, mostly due to his keen mechanics and deranged killer instinct. Perkz has added veteran game knowledge to his already excellent talent throughout the years. He reached his best as a mid laner in 2018, when he advanced to the Worlds semifinals before losing to Invictus Gaming, the eventual champions. He did the unimaginable and switched roles. That's correct; one of the best mid laners in the league deliberately swapped to AD carry to make room on his team for another fantastic mid laner. Many people predicted that this effort would backfire. On the other hand, Perkz silenced his doubters by becoming Europe's top marksman and conquering the 2019 MSI in his first year as a competitive AD carry. He's a true legend, renowned for his trash-talking and lighthearted approach to the game.
That is all for this blog, hope you found some new players to keep an eye out for and watch them wreak havoc in their games.
